RT Journal Article SR Electronic A1 Hagener, Malte T1 Where Is Cinema (Today)? The Cinema in the Age of Media Immanence JF Iluminace YR 2011 VO 23 IS 1 SP 79 OP 88 UL https://iluminace.cz/en/artkey/ilu-201101-0005.php AB The author discusses the historical development of film theories in relation to the question of space - the environment of film exhibition and reception, and points out how the film industry itself is adapting to the new state of media instability by making products that can be easily distributed through a variety of ways. Thus film remains a medium that (if a film is successful, whether on television, in cinemas, on the internet or on a mobile device) offers two things: a second life in which we can temporarily remain, or a different life that we can live. At the same time, the cinematic experience transforms us. This ability to cross thresholds and bridge borders is crucial for cinematography.
