AB The English-language study addresses the apparent paradox created by the viewer's experience of the cinematic representation of a body in free fall: although the final impact is almost never shown on screen, the viewer emotionally experiences the fall as if it had been completed. According to the author, the viewer's reaction can be understood against the background of psychological and neuroscientific research on the perception of goal-directed action.
