T1 Industrial Authorship and Group Style in Czech Cinema of the 1950s and 1960s

AB The article focuses on the issues of industrial authorship in Czech film in the 1950s-1960s, their changes from a centralized production system to group and individual dramaturgy and the transition from extensive to intensive dramaturgy. The purpose of the study is to formulate historically specific concepts of industrial authorship that correspond to the characteristics of the state-socialist mode of production. The author constructs the industrial and social conditions that enabled the emergence of two sub-group styles that profiled themselves through mutual differentiation and competition against the backdrop of the receding socialist realism of the first half of the 1950s. It analyses the influence of Jiří Marek and Eduard Hofman on the reorganisation of film dramaturgy and the formation, composition and activity of dramaturgical production creative groups as well as the parameters of the group styles of the creative groups (TS) of Karel Feix and Bohumil Šmída.
