Some Notice of Vasulka Video 1973-1974

The text is based on the program notes for the 1978 traveling exhibition of videotapes The Moving Image State-Wide: 13 Tapes by 8 Videomakers. Among the filmmakers were Stein and Woody Vasulka. The notes were intended to describe for the audience some of the custom electronic tools, procedures, and effects that the Vasulkas used in their early works. Among the technical equipment that the article discusses in detail are: video synthesizer, colorizer, keyer, horizontal traveling, etc.
