Old and New: A History of DVD as a History of Differentiation
The text traces a brief history of DVD as a format for the distribution of Hollywood films and focuses on the operation of DVD as a means of product differentiation. The author traces how the practices that differentiate DVD from theatrical, videocassette, laserdisc, and television marketing were established.
