Recenze Ondřeje Belici představuje knihu Benoîta Turquetyho Inventing Cinema, jež prostřednictvím konceptu epistemologie strojů detailně mapuje historii filmových technologií a procesy technických invencí od předfilmových aparátů po ranou kinematografii, přičemž recenzent oceňuje mimořádnou historiografickou pečlivost autora, avšak upozorňuje i na vysokou náročnost textu a nevyužitý potenciál hlubšího srovnání s digitální érou.
