Movies of the Ambassador. The Czechoslovak Film Audience and the American State Department (1945-1960)

Introduction to the following correspondence between the U.S. Embassy in Prague and the State Department in Washington. The author of the editorial reflects on the questions that arise over the documents: what was the image of the film audience in the USA and how this constructed model influenced the attitude of the Department towards film exports to the then Czechoslovakia.
